The partners will co-develop next-generation driver assistance, up to future Level 4 uses.

Mercedes-Benz and Nvidia announced on Oct 16 that they are expanding their strategic partnership to jointly develop next-generation driver-assistance and automated-driving systems for the next decade.

Mercedes' MB.OS operating system will work with Nvidia's Hyperion compute and sensor hardware, its Alpamayo AI driving software stack and its Halos safety-redundancy system. The companies say the work covers urban point-to-point driving assistance, active safety and automated parking, as well as future SAE Level 4 applications such as robotic limousines.

No deployment dates or specific models were announced.
